Carpe diem, a phrase that comes from the Roman poet Horace, means literally "Pluck the day", though it's usually translated as "Seize the day". A free translation might be "Enjoy yourself while you have the chance". For some people, Carpe diem serves as the closest thing to a philosophy of life as they'll ever have.

Some folks here are saying they wanna sign up NOW for the next missions trip to Wales. Especially those who just came back from New Orleans exhausted after days in sweltering heat tearing down weeds taller than houses with snakes and other lovely critters.

Mike here! Just a quick note to say howdy. I'm using Tony's laptop, so please excuse all and any mistakes.
Things are going great here, and we're having a Wale of a good time. There are already stories to tell, and much accomplished. We are being overwhelmed by the hospitality of the folks here, as they are treating us like royalty!
Sunday was a wonderful day as our band did an outstanding job of leading in worship. Everyone was really ministered to, and just loved the music they played. I spoke, and thought my message went well. Tony and Garreth seemed to think so as well.
The last two days we have been combing the nearby neighborhoods handing out leaflets, or flyers. We've handed out over two thousand so far.
Today, six members of our team along with several from here went into two local schools to present a gospel presentation. Garreth said it went very well, said both schools really were into it, and they received requests to come back.
So, Tony and Garreth are very pleased with the effect our folks are having on their people here, and have both said significant things are taking place in the homes of the people we're staying with.
Last night about 30 gathered together impromtu, at one of the families for worship around the home piano. Their folks here just loved it!
I'm spending the evening with a family in the church that invited me over, and Tony is going to rest. He said we are wearing him out.
Well, I need to get going now. Love and miss you all, and we'll touch base again soon.
